Sales Lifecycle

Understand how quotes, orders, reservations, deliveries, invoices, payments, credits, and returns fit together.

The Sales permission opens quotes, orders, delivery notes, invoices, recurring invoices, and credit notes. Publishing and cancellation require separate action permissions for scoped members.

Document flow

Quote → Sales order → Delivery note → Sales invoice → Payment

A transaction may start at a later step, but linked creation is preferred because it carries customer and line data, tracks remaining quantities, and builds the document timeline.

Publishing an order can reserve stock. Publishing a delivery reduces stock. Publishing a standard invoice creates a receivable open item and may prepare an outbound eFaktura. Allocated payments update the invoice's financial state. Credit notes reduce the financial position; return notes handle goods coming back.

Do not cancel an upstream document while active downstream records depend on it. Use the timeline and remaining-quantity indicators to decide whether to complete, close, credit, return, or cancel.
